Cheryl Schoen is a certified personal trainer, who has been with SMX 12 years now, but she wasn’t always healthy and fit. Cheryl was overweight as a child and into her mid-20s. She tried every diet known to man, losing and gaining back 100s of pounds over the years. It was a constant struggle for Cheryl and had a profoundly negative impact on her self-esteem.
When a 213-pound Cheryl broke the zipper on a size 22 pair of pants, she decided it was time for a change. Not only did she lose the weight, Cheryl also dedicated herself to a lifelong pursuit of health and fitness. Today, Cheryl is an athlete who has competed in over 30 triathlons, half marathons, and duathlons of varying distances around the country.
In fact, Cheryl competed in her first triathlon, the Miami Ironman 70.3 at the age of 49. She’s healthier now then she’s ever been before and it all started with weight training. That’s the reason that Cheryl is so dedicated to helping her clients at SMX.
It’s important to Cheryl that her clients understand that weight training does not lead to “bulking up”. Building strength is about creating a foundation for health, longevity and injury prevention. By gaining muscle, Cheryl’s clients improve their physiology, move and lift themselves more easily, and increase their self-esteem (and look better naked!)
After years of her own setbacks and frustration, Cheryl understands the emotional and physical challenges that clients often have around weight, mobility, and physical issues in general. With her unique blend of empathy, empowerment and tough love, Cheryl motivates her clients to new levels of health and fitness—every single day.
Cheryl is not your “traditional” trainer and it shows in her results. Whether you want to compete in a triathlon, have a stronger and more toned body or just get out of the tub more easily at night, Cheryl Schoen can help you reach your goals.READ TESTIMONIALS
