Tim Allerton

Tim is a certified personal trainer and exercise physiologist with over 13 years of experience in exercise science and personal training. In 2005, Tim received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from LSU. During that time Tim worked as the “senior fit” trainer and physiology intern in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. After, Tim accepted a scholarship to pursue his master’s degree in clinical exercise physiology at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. As a graduate student, Tim worked at Tufts Medical Center Obesity Consult Center under the guidance of Dr. Harry Pino. Tim returned to New Orleans to to serve as the research associate for the LSUHSC/Pennington Biomedical Center’s Joint Program on Metabolism and Type 2 Diabetes. Tim has won several research awards for his study in skeletal muscle and metabolism and has presented his research at numerous national conferences. Tim is in the final year of study to earn his doctorate in exercise physiology from LSU.  In addition, Tim is also the founder of HIT LAB. Through this innovative concept Tim is able to offer on-site metabolic testing in addition to his personal training services.
